Before U-Pick: As spring arrives, we monitor our plants closely for health and growth. We typically document a few stages of the berry development on our social media. Green berries will develop, turn purple and then gradually ripen and sweeten. The weather is the biggest determining factor to how quickly this happens. Each of our varieties typically becomes ripe at a different time in the season. Our u-pick season is between the end of June to the end of August. Specific dates will be advertised on our social media pages.
Once the season starts, our u-pick is open Sunday – Friday until the season is done. We are closed on Saturdays. Our hours are 8 am – 2 pm. The best picking days are when it is slightly cooler and gray, but not raining.
We ask customers come prepared to be outside and bring their own picking container. Once you come in the gate, park on the grass near the entrance and ensure the gate is closed behind you. Please sign in with a staff member. We weigh your containers to deduct the weight off your final total. We assign you to a row that is ready to be picked and give first time customers brief instructions. If you have a preferred variety you would like to pick, let us know and we can usually accommodate.
Most customers will drive down and park along the fence near their assigned row. Picking may be at the beginning of the row, down the row where the last person left off, or at the end of the row, as discussed with staff member. Picking can continue until 5 min prior to our closing time.
Once picking is complete, bring your containers of berries back to the start and we will weigh them and calculate payment due. We currently accept cash or e-transfer for payment.
We do have an outhouse and hand washing station available for cleanliness purposes. We have picking stools for rent and small empty containers for purchase. Pre-picked berries, frozen berries, juice, jam and other products are also available for sale.
